I have often been asked what the key is to making a good first impression.
From my personal experience: it is a general smile (act like you're having a good time when out and about), looking put together and smelling GOOD.
The smiling and dressing up seem to be pretty common knowledge. But I can't tell you how many people don't smell clean or are doing WAY too much with cologne that don't match their body chemistry. Not to sound conceited, but I get asked all the time "What cologne are you wearing?" or get told "You smell SO good"
Now I've been a cologne whore since I was a chubby 14 year old kid rubbing my nuts to posters of Usher and Eric Nies on "The Grind" (throwback slut swag, FTMFW). So I've decided to break it down and give you some tips for matching scents for YOUR body-type and also listing some of my personal faves.

So without further adieu, Let's get it and shit.
So as we all should know: perfumes/colognes have essential oils in them and the warmth of the skin/ pulse points is what brings out their scent over time.
Tip 1:
The first big tip I have is that Blondes and people with lighter skin tones have a tendency towards dry skin (unless they have an unnaturally high amount of fats in their diet). And even if you are of a darker skin tone and you have dry skin, this tip is for you. The essential oils in colognes/perfumes are not properly absorbed into dry, unnourished skin. If you notice that you have a tendency towards dry skin and you want your scent to last all night apply a matching or unscented lotion to the pulse points to act as a base for the fragrance. You will thank me next time you go out and don't have to reapply.
Tip 2:
The more oily the skin is, the more intense EVERY scent is (remember, essential oils in perfumes bond with your body's natural oils and body heat to produce the desired effect). So if you have oily skin, you may need to use fewer sprays to achieve long-lasting results.
Tip 3:
Spray from the floor up. I know it sounds crazy (especially if you are wearing jeans to the club), but trust me. Like with anything heat-driven, scents rise. So if you only put it behind your ears and on your neck, it will fade before night's end. My suggestion: Women- put a spritz on your ankles and one behind each of your knees as well as wrists, neck and behind the ears. Fellas- Spray some on your jeans (not much, just a bit) and do the shirt (lightly), neck and wrists as well.
Tip 4:
Learn about notes in cologne/perfumes so you can easily get your desired effect while switching between fragrances. Notes are the layers of scents that comprise the body of a fragrance. Top notes are the most prevalent scents and base notes are what are hiding in the background. Example: Bergamot and other citrus (top) notes are some of my faves. They have a clean, airy scent and that is usually what I go for. Some colognes I use that contain them are: Acqua di Gio and Armani Code by Giorgio Armani, Versace Blue Jeans by Versace and Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren (though I won't divulge how I layer them together). Hell,I even occasionally use Bod: Black body spray to achieve it when I'm not going OUT. Regardless of whether you're trying to achieve crisp scents or musk-inspired ones, you can find all the info on the notes with a simple online search.
This should suffice for now. I just think that how you smell effects how people interact with you and should be treated as something that is equally important to how you dress. Your smell is the first thing a LOT of people will notice about you, so do yourself a favor and get it right.
Hugs and cum,
Dylan
